Who can book a session?

These sessions are available to current QCAD students and alumni.

Active Print Club members receive 50% off the session fee.

Where will the headshots take place?

All sessions will take place on campus in the photography studios (S03.4.22). Once your booking is confirmed, you’ll receive the exact studio and any additional details you might need.

How long is each session?

Each headshot session is 25 minutes. This gives us enough time to capture a few variations while keeping the day running smoothly for everyone.

How many outfits can I bring?

Please plan for one outfit. With a 25-minute session there isn’t time for full outfit changes, but you’re welcome to bring small variations (like a jacket or accessory) if you’d like.

What backgrounds will be available?

You’ll be able to choose between black, white, or grey backdrops.

What lighting styles are available?

We can shoot with a few different lighting styles depending on what suits you best, including but not limited to:

• Soft, even lighting
• More dramatic lighting with shadows
• Moody lighting with deeper contrast

We’ll decide together during the session what works best for you.

How many photos will I receive?

You will receive 3-5 fully edited final headshots, included in the $50 session fee.

Can I purchase extra photos?

Yes, additional edited images will be available for purchase if you’d like more than the final 3-5 images

What kind of editing is included?

Basic retouching is included.
This may include:

• colour correction
• exposure adjustments
• removal of temporary blemishes (such as pimples)

Permanent features such as wrinkles, scars, or natural skin texture will not be altered.

How will I receive my images?

Your final images will be delivered digitally via an online gallery where they will be available for download for a short period of time. A link to the gallery will be sent on completion to your preferred method of contact.

Will I receive the raw images?

No. Raw/unedited images are not provided.

Only the final edited images will be delivered.

What happens if I’m late?

If you arrive late, your session may need to be shortened so the schedule stays on track. I’ll always try my best to make it work, but please aim to arrive a few minutes early if you can. In some cases, the session may need to be cancelled depending on timing.

Can I bring a friend?

Friends aren’t strictly prohibited, but it’s best to come alone if possible. Sessions are short and distractions can make it harder to stay on schedule.

Can I use the photos for anything I want?

Your headshots are intended for personal and professional use such as portfolios, websites, social media, CVs, or exhibition materials.
They cannot be used for commercial advertising.

Will there be more headshot days?

Possibly! It will depend on studio availability and my schedule. These sessions are currently planned for Semester 1, and the day may change if I run them again in Semester 2.

What should I wear?

Wear something that feels comfortable and representative of you. Solid colours tend to photograph best, while very busy patterns can sometimes be distracting. If you’re unsure, simple and classic is always a safe option.

Do I need professional hair or makeup?

Not at all. Come as you normally present yourself professionally. Light makeup or grooming can photograph nicely, but the goal is to capture a natural and authentic headshot.

How long will editing take?

Editing times can vary depending on how many sessions are booked, but you can generally expect your final images to be delivered within 7-10 days.

I hate having my photo taken…help?

You’re definitely not alone. Most people feel a little awkward in front of the camera. We’ll keep things relaxed, move through a few simple poses, and find something that feels natural for you. My job is to make this process easy and comfortable, not at all stressful.
